Three jobs, one body, one goal

Filed under: Career, Writing — admin @ 11:24 am

RWCI have three jobs. I am not wonder woman, if that is what you are thinking. I just need to have three jobs because I have a goal 5 years from now: to buy my own condominium unit. I work as an advertiser in the morning, I teach in a university during weekends, and in between, I do freelance writing. it is not as stressful as it would seem. Or perhaps, I just got used to it so that I became immunized from stress. Well, I enjoy doing my freelance writing job. It has good pay which I use to splurge on my luxuries, like designer clothes and high-end beauty products. I just bought this new miracle cream last week which retails for almost $300. The money I spent to buy that, I got from doing online freelance writing. I am not that much of a spender, I know very well how to save. But splurging a bit once in a while gives me that much needed pampering since I work very hard. Buying my own place five years from now will be just sweet, and that is way I am doing all these jobs because that is my biggest short term goal. And what is my long term goal? Definitely to marry, start my own family, and earn more during the whole thing.

A Working-Mom No More

Filed under: Career, Internet — admin @ 1:17 pm

short_taskBeing a working mom is a very hard task. I have two kids and a husband to take care of. My eldest is six and the youngest is four. Both are studying now. I used to work  in a bank for about three years. I usually hire a nanny to take care of my kids for the whole day. Unfortunately, there were instances where I encountered problems with my nannies so I had to replace them from time to time. The more difficult to face as a mother is when your children get sick and you were not there to attend to their needs because of work. Several times it happened to me and I felt very guilty about it but it leaves me no choice at times. So when my husband found a new job that will pay enough for all our monthly expenses, I decided to file for my resignation. My boss didn’t approved of it and even offered me a promotion. My husband told me to give it a chance for a few months and so I did. But then, things didn’t work out right and I realized that I should prioritize my family so I finally resigned. From then on, I devoted all my time to my kids and husband. I even realized then how much time I missed of not being able to see my kids growing up. I never had any regrets of giving up my career. Nowadays, I feel that my kids are grown-up and don’t need much of my attention. So I told my husband that maybe I could go back to work so I could help with the finances but I will look for a job where I could Work at Home. In this way, I could still be able to attend to their needs. While the kids are at school, I could spend my time to do Work from Home. My husband agreed and thought that it would be a great idea. He mentioned that one of his colleague’s wife is doing the same thing. So the next day I called up his colleague’s wife and learned about the Short Task Review which I find very interesting. I will have the options of choosing the task that I want and once I fulfill it I can get paid. So I did not waste my time and tried it. I am doing it for months now and I am very satisfied with the pay especially the convenience since I can still spend quality time with my family.
