CFB_suppliesBudget multifunctional inkjet printers are nothing new Epson alone seem to release a new one every week, at least it seem that way. Their latest offering is the SX200 and it promises to be an affordable everyday solution of your multifunction printing needs. Printer ink cartridges are a touchy subject when it comes to budget inkjets and Epson SX200 ink cartridges appear to follow the same pattern as the rest i.e. being very expensive. A full set of genuine Epson ink cartridges will cost the same price as the SX200 costs, there are cheaper compatibles available however. Whether you’re using compatible or original cartridges the SX200 printing with surprisingly good quality and all types of documents have a quality finish to them. Being a multifunction device the SX200 doesn’t just print its also scans and copies as well. The Scanner is adequate for most home or office operations, the SX200 can scan at 300 or 600dpi and can produce colour or black and copies at the touch of a button. It also comes with OCR software which coverts printed text into editable text documents. The built-in card reader means that photos can be printed directly from a number memory cards including Compact Flash, SD and Memory Stick Pro with the need for a PC. The two main weak points of the SX200 are a high operating noise and slow printing speeds but apart from that it’s a pretty solid versatile machine.
